TUTORING SYSTEM

Foundation of didactics

At Leonardo SVS, the foundation of didactics is personalized tutoring, which replaces rote learning with cognitive, intellectual, and personal development, creating an environment that supports conscious learning. We develop competencies in independent thinking, analysis, information interpretation, and responsible management of one’s own educational process. The system covers all students — both in the IB program and on the Leonardo SVS track — ensuring uniform work standards, equal access to developmental tools, and consistency of teaching methods across the entire school structure.
The model offers extended challenges for high‑ability students, including research projects, tasks of increased complexity, and individualized paths for deepening knowledge. At the same time, it provides precise support for students who need more time to master the material, enabling stable and safe development. The tutor guides the student through learning‑style diagnostics, work planning, cognitive‑load regulation, and the development of educational strategies tailored to the student’s abilities. They provide an appropriate level of challenge, monitor moments of increased stress, and support the student in maintaining balance between ambition and well‑being.

Every student has the opportunity to participate in a mentoring program (1 hour per week) focused on time management, soft skills development, and building intellectual autonomy. The “Element” (Żywioł) Project supports the identification of talents and passions, helping transform them into the foundation for future academic and career pathways. Students work on cognitive habits, long-term planning, and self-regulation, receiving support in building their portfolios and developing initiatives. This comprehensive ecosystem includes continuous access to teaching staff, career guidance, and psychological support, actively monitoring emotional well-being and preventing academic burnout.
The system provides developmental consultations, crisis support, and preventive measures that strengthen mental resilience and a sense of security, creating a stable environment conducive to growth.

Evaluation and individual development architecture

The tutoring system includes a multi‑layered developmental evaluation that makes it possible to precisely define the student’s educational profile and adjust the teaching strategy to their current needs. Diagnostics of cognitive competencies, analysis of learning styles, and classroom‑work observations create a complete picture of the student’s progress and the dynamics of their functioning within the school environment. This enables the tutor to plan educational actions in a more informed way, fully aligned with the student’s individual capabilities.
Students receive personalized work plans and educational strategies — selection of tools, note‑taking techniques, methods of text analysis, time‑management approaches, and recommendations for independent study. Evaluation also covers soft skills such as independence, stress resilience, collaboration, and self‑reflection, all of which are essential in academic and professional environments. This way, the process supports both intellectual and social development.
The tutor supports decisions regarding the choice of advanced subjects, research projects, extracurricular activities, and academic pathways. Recommendations are based on diagnostic data and developmental observation, enabling informed planning of the student’s educational future. The model ensures transparency in the learning process and enables the formation of an individual intellectual identity, which becomes the foundation for the student’s further development.
